The Grizzly Den cabin is approximately 600+ sqft with over 200 sqft of outdoor covered decks.  The cabin was hand made in 1977 in tribute to the old Pioneer cabins. The cabin went through a massive renovation in 2000 with other sporadic updates up to 2015.  There was careful consideration not to lose the character of a hand made rustic Montana Pioneer Cabin.  The cabin and all property on the South Fork of the Yaak River are off the grid.  The cabin has propane lights, stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, and a small solar system for powering lights, water pump and any other small house hold electrical needs.  The solar system is backed up by a Honda Whisper 6500 Wt Generator with less than 25 hours on it (please see sale details for more info).  There is a small bathroom with a shower and the sink area is plumed but the sink bowl is not yet in.  The shower is supplied by a 100gallon cistern and full size hot water heater which has excellent water pressure.  There is room for a flush toilet or composting toilet if so desired.

The Kitchen sink provides strong water pressure, both hot and cold.  For heat, there is a Schaffer wood stove that is a fireplace addition so both doors may be opened to enjoy the fire.  The chimney is stacked chimney block for safety. The roof is metal and in excellent condition.  All windows except two are Marvin Wood windows and the exterior windows were stained May 2015.  The choice was made not to install a septic system as we felt it defeated the purpose of having a rustic off the grid cabin, however septics are approved in this area.  The outhouse is probably one of the nicest you will see, with the interior being rough cut cedar with a large antique window for wildlife/nature viewing.  Even in winter the use of a lantern keeps the outhouse toasty warm, and the throw back to a simpler time.   The cabin has hardwood floors throughout, and custom kitchen cabinets, and a hand made log queen bed.  It is so quiet and peaceful sleeping in this cabin.  There are three decks, one on the back and two on the front offering awesome wildlife viewing, serenity, and a place to smell the clean forest air and watch wildlife.

The Cabin is mainly one large room on the main floor with the exception of the bathroom, and a small closet.  Upstairs in the queen bed is positioned to look out the sliding glass doors.  There is room on the other end of the loft for another bed and we've used a blow up queen there in the past for hunting trips.  On the main floor there is a queen size futon in front of the fire place.  There is also a rustic wood shed behind the cabin which we use for firewood, some tools, and the generator.
